HOUSE TRAINING NoVACAIN Kennels STYLE

House Training:
This begins with the dam encouraging her pups not to soil in the bed. In a pen the pups will usually soil away from the bed on newspaper pup training pad or whatever you provide for them. One thing you don’t want is your pups associating newspaper with defecating. So it will be wise on your part to get the pups out in the grass on regular intervals, like after a meal or a nap. Never punish a young new pup for soiling in the wrong place. The most obvious sign that a pup needs to relieve themselves is circling in the same place or restlessness. Consistency is the key to successfully house training pups. One trick I use and find that works very well is the Door Bell trick. First I get the new pups used to pads by the door. Next I go out and buy some jingle bells and tie a lot of them on a string leaving enough string to hang around the door knob and low enough for the pup to reach. And that’s it. Each time a door opens that leads outside the bells will ring and your pup will hear this every single time. That pad that’s near the doors that lead outside is just extra safety for your floor. Pups are smart they will soon go to the door and tap the bells to let you know they need to go out. If you see your pup about to go with the normal signs they show pick them up and rush them outside. Oh yea the most important thing is get them use to you taking them outside potty early in training and the words you choose to use to let them know it’s time to go out and potty. Time to go out, Lets go potty, Do you need to go; something this will go a long way.
