The American Bully & UKC......
As of July 15, 2013 the UKC has now began to recognize the American
Bully as a breed, but only as of now the Standard and Classics classes. My opinion
is the UKC has found a way to clean up their American Pit Bull Terrier’s stud
book. Many American Bully breeders for
way too long producing way too many dogs have been selling their American Bullies
as both American Pit Bull Terrier & American Bully by handing new owners
ABKC & UKC papers which really doesn’t make sense to begin with these are 2
totally different breeds. I say good job UKC for finding a way to clean up your
books. What I don’t care for is that the UKC at this time doesn’t recognize the
Pocket and XL Bully which is taking a lot of good real representations of the
Pocket and XL Bullies, ones which are healthy, clean, correct and functional dogs
out of the running of helping better the breed. I listened to the Bully Booth BTK Radio show
when they has the president of the UKC on and I liked the some things the man
had to say, and a few things I didn’t agree with. All I can say is let’s see if
the UKC are truly people of their word and also that I will do my best to make
it out to the first showing of the American Bully and a UKC event and will
report my findings out to the Bully community.

What is an American Bully?
What is an American Bully?
The American Bully Kennel Club, or A.B.K.C. for short, is the official registry worldwide for the American Bully. The American Bully breed was created in 1990 and gained recognition and establishment in 2004, per the inception of the A.B.K.C. The American Bully breed has been selectively bred to give America’s breed a new direction and outlet. Like with the American Sta...ffordshire Terrier, all the positive characteristics of the breed’s ancestry were kept like loyalty, stability with humans and other physical attributes; but traits of dog aggression and gameness were bred out of the breed because the breed had no future and purpose for those traits. What differentiates this breed from the American Staffordshire Terrier is the physical appearance. This breed is built with heavier bone structure and a “Bullier” build. A reinvented breed was formed with the purpose of being the ultimate companion breed, and this breed is the “American Bully.”

So here we go......
So here we go:
Long ago I wrote a term paper on individuals who would open a business in a neighborhood that they wouldn't live in. How they would sell goods to individuals they looked down upon. Sell products that would poison or pollute a group of individuals for profit. The fact that their money was good, but they weren't good enough to marry their sons and daughters. The pillaging and exploiting of communities by individuals that didn't care about a community. I was reminded of this paper yesterday as I reviewed the UKC decision to register the American Bully.
The same as the UKC doesn't believe or support the breed, so much so that they kicked out the AmStaff as well. Now they reopen the AmStaffs books and will acknowledge a breed it has referred to as mutts and a group of individuals that it has shunned for years. Why? $50 registration says it all, for a breed that it will not currently allow to show. A breed that in turn it will destroy ...by allowing all non APBTs to be registered as AmBullies.
Listen...by allowing anything that resembles an American Bully to be an American Bully what is really going to happen? No papers required, no owners during the time of breeding, hand written peds and pictures is all you need.
It is a win because now a breed it discredited it is legitimizing, however the people made the breed legit. Not the UKC, the owners of the breed legitimized it. We did the impossible, they noticed and now want to cash in. This is about possibly saving the APBT, but in no ways is it about protecting or establishing the American Bully in a reputable way.
It's a win of sorts for the AmBully, but even as they pat the breed on their strong backs that will bring the UKC money, they smack the face of the same breed by not acknowledging the ABKC as a registry. You will accept the breed but won't consider it's home legit?
We are not the bastard children of the APBT or the UKC we are the sons and daughters of the American dream the American bully!

My thoughts on the UKC accepting the American Bully
People keep asking me how I feel about the UKC’s decision to accept the American Bully and out of respect to the community I will answer this…
How do I feel? Initially I feel flattered, confused, victorious, and insulted all in the same breath.
Before I get into that, let me first take the time to thank this community for all of the years of support and unity. We stood up for our breed and ourselves, and we stood and fought together for many years to gain acceptance for all of this. Together we succeeded in this by paving our own way and direction, and we created our own identity, which together we overcame adversity and eventually prevailed. So I thank you all for the years of commitment and support, together we made the American Bully and we gained acceptance together, so I want to thank you all.
In some sort of way this could be viewed as a victory, but if it is a victory then it’s bittersweet and not genuine.
Before I continue to give my thoughts on this let me go through some facts of history. I have read some comments about people saying ABKC took from them so why shouldn’t they take back, things about money, things about lying about the breed being Pit Bulls, things of this nature and I think some real facts need to be told as a reminder of what the true history is and why.
This part is facts and not my personal opinions. In the early 90s I competed heavy in the UKC with my Razors Edge dogs. I did very well and along with the help of other people whether it be partners or friends with my dogs, we all did good with the dogs and achieved many titles. We brought in a new crowd and young fresh crowd to this scene, as well as a diverse crowd, which grew very fast. Within a few years they decided to change the breed standard, the new standard was a drastic change from the previous standard and isolated traits that were outside what was originally written and what my personal dogs possessed. I was confused as to how a standard would change after all these years of existence? They changed the head and the importance of it; they changed movement, and completely flipped to wanting a different style of dog. When I contacted the office to get an explanation for this change, I could not believe the answer they gave me? Apparently they did not control the breed standard, it was outsourced to a group called the American Pit Bull Terrier Association? When I looked into this group I found it was a panel of breeders, but even worse a group of friends. These were the same people we were competing against and had expressed their unhappiness towards our crowd and our achievements. I could not believe a registry did NOT govern their own breed and standards? (Which now is very confusing and contradictory that they now want to govern our breed). Anyway the standard went onto to change a few more times over the years along with the dictating panel that did the changing. I eventually felt this changed the breed too far from what I got into it for and deviated from the original standard too many times, to eventually excluding our style of dogs and making it impossible to compete in their events. I along with many people stopped showing and competing, we felt it was pointless to spend money and support something that turned its back on you.
I put my time and energy into a new direction for our dogs, we formed a group called the Elite Edge and the goal was to promote our style of dogs. We started a social network group called the Elite Edge message board, which became a huge driving force for this style of breed. Other groups and supporters began getting involved and even other bloodlines with similar styles got into it. In a short time it became a large community and we began to host BBQ style events and “meet and greet” events to show off our dogs and come together. We no longer had a home or place where we could compete, so we had to create our own. We also began calling our style of dogs a slang name “Bullies”. Even though our dogs were no longer accepted in the UKC show ring, we still continued to support the registry and register our dogs with them. I was invited to come to a UKC show in California and when I got there I was overwhelmed at the large group of people that came out to meet me and support me. There were many Razors Edge owners and Gotti owners and all so proud of their dogs. They had tents set up in the park away from the show ring, but within a short time the host came and asked that they all leave. Since the dogs were not competing in the event they could not be there? I’ve been to many events and seen both competing and non-competing dogs; this was never a problem before, especially since the dogs were not near the ring and not disrupting the show. These were all people with UKC registered dogs, where were they to go? Why would you want to turn away people trying to do something positive with their UKC registered dogs away from a UKC event? It wasn’t until I went to another event that I realized the root of the problem. This time people came out but went to a completely different end of the park, but the host still responded by saying they all had to leave. I went to speak to the host and the exact response they gave me was, look at them they are gangsters and thugs and we don’t want them here. I looked back and saw people with kids, people cooking food on grills, people smiling and just trying to get out and do something fun with their dogs? I understand if something is disruptive to the show, but this was not the case. This was discrimination, I realized first they discriminated against our style of dog, and now they are discriminating against people. To make it even worse, the host called the police and had everyone removed from the park, people trying to do something positive with their dogs were treated as if they were criminals. To me this had gone too far, how could anyone treat people like this and people with this breed? They only wanted to do something positive, you don’t close doors in their faces; for the good of the breed and people you reach out and try and help. When I came back I felt something needed to be done, these dogs and the people who supported them needed a home and a way to do something positive with the breed.
One day there was a debate on the Elite Edge board about calling our dogs by a different name, the name being thrown around was Patriot something? I thought long and hard about this and realized the UKC show dogs I had were very different from the original game bred and true American Pit Bull Terriers. These dogs were made up of a lot of American Staffordshire Terrier blood and bred for similar traits and temperaments. The Am.Staff had broken away from the Pit Bull long ago to make itself its own breed. It was different from its ancestors and possessed new and unique traits. The style of Pit Bull we had basically stemmed from the Am. Staff breed, and now the style the UKC standard reflected was again another change and direction. I began to realize that there were different versions of the breed, and in essence we had created our own look and direction and it was the beginning of a new breed. I jumped into the name changing debate and said I am going to call my dogs and the Razors Edge line the American Bully. There was a huge division on this concept, but I had my mind set on this for my line. I felt we had made enough changes from the original breed that we should have a new name and identity. With the backing of the Elite Edge group we began to push the breed as this and others began to do the same. We still had an issue of validity as well as no home for these dogs nor a way to compete with them. At this point I felt we needed to form a registry for these dogs so they had a home and could be validated, so we created the ABKC. I reached out to Richard Barajas of Gottliline and together we both agreed to register and take our dogs this direction. The ABKC was created and then a criterion was created to establish what the criteria would be for dogs to be entered into the studbooks as the brood stock of this breed. This criterion was initially based on bloodline percentages, the dogs had to be over 50% Razors Edge or Gotti blood. (The criterion has changed and has had more added to it over the years and now requires pictures and more) Then a breed standard was written for the breed, which was unique to the ABKC.
Over time the following grew and people came together in unity to support the breed and each other; however we were still looked down on from outside our community. I pretty much became public enemy number 1 to the show world I had come from. We were attacked and ridiculed by them, but we never stopped fighting for our acceptance.
The concept of the ABKC was to give validity to the American Bully and to give its supporters a way to compete and display the breed in environments free from discrimination. We again received resistance from outside our community, but this didn’t stop us, we kept pushing and fighting for what was right and for our breed. Over time we finally began to gain respect and we did something even bigger, through our events and our unity we started to change public perception in the masses. Not just for the breed, but also for people and stereotypes, we began to make people see that this breed and its supporters were positive and not the negative perception they previously had. These events grew by the thousands and negative perceptions were being broken by the same. We together fought for acceptance and respect, and we did this by coming together and standing up as ourselves! We had backs turned on us, we had been ousted from our homes, we were discriminated against, we were left with no home, no name, no identity, and no respect; but together we built a new home, a new name, a new identity, and we built the American Bully! We made our own direction and breed and we made people realize we should be accepted and Respected! We did this and we made this, and without the validation, acceptance, help, and support of the UKC.
The ABKC was created out of necessity, not because it was a business concept or for the purpose of finances. Unlike any other registry, a community created the ABKC so that we and our dogs all had a home. This is why to this day no owner has received a dime from this company; this was not created for the purpose of making money. Maybe I am not a good businessman, but to this day I give my time and life for this breed and community. The ABKC is the people’s registry and this is why over time varieties of the breed were added and changes have been per the requests of the community. The ABKC is and will always be a registry that works for and listens to its supporters.
The American Bully was created by this community and will always belong to this community. Nothing was taken from any other registry; this breed and its supporters were turned away and had to unite together to build a home. We built a breed, we built a home, we built a community, and we made our way to respect for the breed, and against all the resistance we prevailed!
The UKC filed a lawsuit against the ABKC, claiming the ABKC copied terms on their pedigrees, let me also state the facts on this. The UKC got a copy write on the term performance pedigree in 2009, the ABKC had stopped using that term in 2007. Pedigrees had not reflected that term by 2008, as well as it is a term used on other animal pedigrees outside the UKC. The ABKC decided in 2007 that this term did not fit the breed and changed not just that part but also the entire look of the pedigree. This suit in my opinion was meant to drain the funds of the ABKC in hopes that it would go out of business. In the end this did NOT happen.
In 2012 the UKC started revoking dogs that had Bully characteristics, and in 2013 they went on a huge attack of these dogs taking their papers and revoking their pedigrees. The statements they gave clearly stated that these dogs did not fit the standards and they we being revoked, NOT that they are American Bully’s and can be switched to that breed name; they were flat out taking the papers. What happened is that eventually people realized this was wrong, this was being done to UKC registered dogs and by taking the papers this also took away proof of ownership, as well as people who spent money on dogs carrying this pedigree. The UKC had once again tried to remove the dogs and people and made this very clear they were not wanted there. People began exposing this and threatening suits against them, then out of nowhere they came up with we accept the American Bully. You mean after years of pushing the dogs away, discrediting the dogs, turning backs on the dogs, and making a huge stand to get rid of them all, all of the sudden they are accepted? I am sorry but I cannot see this as a true victory and a genuine acceptance, I see this as a controlled way to protect a company.
I went and read more into it and see how controlled it is and read between the lines, they pretty much gave themselves an out to do whatever and how ever they want.
They want to have full control and give NO credit back to how the breed was created, and all the work put into it and the people who did it? They want to charge $50 and then decide whether to accept you’re dog or not and either way keep $15? I tried to look at this and feel a sense of victory, but this is not victory, it is once again disrespect. Now they want to dictate what the breed is, and a breed that they had no participation in?
I am sorry but there is no way I would turn over control of a breed we created to a registry that never has wanted us or the dogs. I read some of the comments and think man do we not have self-respect? Do we not realize that we made this without them? Why would we need or want validation from them? We did this without them and with them against us. We put in the work, we built the breed, and we fought for our acceptance and we won! So now we turn it over to the people who were NOT in support of this? We give them the support in dictating and determinating what an American Bully is? Give them the power and control to govern our breed? I cannot support nor rejoice on this; I stand for the community that fought for where we are today and I stand very proud and satisfied, and the only validation I ever need is the one we built together!
The ABKC and our community created and validated this breed. The ABKC holds the studbooks for the American Bully breed and has the only valid criterion for the certification of this breed, which was done with the support and input from the community.
I am extremely proud to have stood with all of you for all of these years and extremely proud of the accomplishments we have made for this breed and each other. This is the only validation I ever need! Nothing has made me more proud than to see what we all have done together for this breed. To me we are the American Bully and we built this breed. I cannot see it being controlled and governed by an outside source who never had a want or respect for it, until it came to down money.
For those who asked for my thoughts, there you have it. I will support our community and continue to do what I have always done and promote and protect this breed and you. Thank you for taking the time to read this, all Respect to you all. Again thank you for all you’ve done to get the breed and us where we are today. We know its not been perfect and there will always be things to improve on, but we have come a very long way and created an incredible breed and community.
I am not trying to persuade anyone this is a Country of freedom, I just choose to stay the on the path we created, I’ve been down those dead end roads before. I Respect the road we built and will continue to stay there always looking to improve on it, but always respecting the hard work put into it. Thank you all

Keep It 100......
I will get deleted by many after this, who cares I know I keep it 100!!!!!!!
Some of you bully breeders are full of BS, talking foolishly about the American pit bull terrier, like you never was all on the pit bull bandwagon back in the day. But now you’re on the American Bully bandwagon, and talking crazy about one of the breeds that was used to make your American Bully. GET OUT OF HERE WITH THAT! And most likely you were there ones who only a few years ago like last year was telling people you have Bully Pit Bulls. Don't forget where all this started from people.....history is key and my dogs can be traced back with no Frenchy or English bull dog added.

Know Your Ticks
Tick Information Series |
- use the center of the trail if you can
- pull your socks over the bottom of your pants
- wear light colored clothing
- consider using a repellent
- examine yourself and your clothes after each trip
- make sure your pets have proper flea & tick treatment, such as Frontline Plus
Symptoms of tick borne diseases may take days, weeks, or even years to manifest themselves; individual ticks have been known to carry up to three disease carrying microorganisms. Female ticks are more active feeders and therefore the most likely to infect their hosts with a microorganism during blood feeding. However, certain species of ticks are more associated with a particular microorganism than others, and the ability to identify a tick bite, the species, and log when and where the bite occurred could help a health professional towards a diagnosis.
Brown Dog Ticks
The Brown Dog Tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus) is associated with Babesiosis and Ehrlichiosis and, as its name suggests this tick is most likely to be found on dogs. Unlike many species of ticks, the Brown Dog Tick can spend its entire life cycle indoors and is distributed mainly in warmer climates; the tick can be found throughout Florida. With the female of the species being able to lay 5,000 eggs at one time, home infestations can occur very quickly.Brown Tick Photo (University Of Florida)
The Brown Dog Tick is red-brown in color, has an elongated body shape, and a hexagonal basis capituli (attaches the head to the body). Prevention of an infestation is easier than trying to eradicate one. Talk to your local Southern States about tick control. Regular treatment of your dog should reduce the chances of a tick attaching itself and successfully feeding.
Deer Ticks
The Deer Tick also known as the Blacklegged Tick and the Cattle Tick (Ixodes scapularis) is associated with Babesiosis, Ehrlichsiosis, and Lyme Disease.Deer Tick Photo (Iowa State University)
The deer tick is widespread in the eastern U.S. from Florida to Maine and reportedly, is expanding its geographical range. Despite its name associating it with deer, the tick has a mobile three host life cycle. The larvae will attach themselves to mammals and birds during August; white footed mice are a favorite. After feeding, the larvae will become nymphs, which will in turn feed on a variety of hosts. Finally, the adult deer ticks will emerge in October and are active throughout the winter, if the temperature is above freezing.
Adult deer ticks favor white tailed deer and are around one eighth of an inch long, dark brown to black in color, with the female the more active feeder, having an orange to red scutum (dorsal shield) at the top of its head.
American Dog Ticks
The Dog Tick (Dermacentor variabilis), also known as the American Dog Tick is associated with Ehrlichiosis, Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever and Tularemia.American Dog Ticks are widely distributed eastwards from Montana to South Texas, west of the Cascade and Sierra Nevada Mountains in California and in Saskatchewan in Canada. The ticks like to wait for potential hosts on grass and vegetation in fallow fields, overgrown roadsides, and along the edges of paths and trails.
Dog Tick Photo (The University Of Maine)
The larvae and nymphs of the dog tick feed on small mammals; the adult of the species prefers larger mammals such as raccoons, ground hogs, opossum, dogs, and sometimes humans. Before gorging herself on blood, the female dog tick is around three eighths of an inch long. After a blood meal she could be well over half an inch long; males are around one eighth of an inch long whether they have fed or not.
The adult dog tick is oval shaped, reddish brown in color, with a mottling of light grey or silver on its scutum. The ticks over winter in the soil and are most active between mid April to early September but can survive around two years without feeding. After feeding for five to 14 days, an adult female will drop to the ground where she can lay between 5,000-6,500 eggs.

Pick A Breed 4 Once......
Today many people have been having lot problems, with their “American
Bullies” and “American Pit Bull Terrier’s”, why because breeders are not being
100% honest with their customers.
Breeders have been selling dogs that have UKC papers as “American
Bullies” and dogs with ABKC papers as “American Pit Bull Terriers” or “American
Pit Bulls” or “Pit Bulls” which every way you put it these 2 separate breeds are
not the same. An American Bully cannot be
and is not a Pit Bull so why hand UKC papers to a new owner when you are
calling the dogs American Bullies? If you truly have American Bullies drop the
UKC papers and represent the breed with one of its registries. Now if you want
to breed American Pit Bull Terriers breed them to the standard of one registry
that represents the breed and drop the ABKC papers. Below is a short list of
the top American Bully and American Pit Bull Terrier registries in my opinion.
American Bully: ABKC, IBKC, BBCR, ABBA
American Pit Bull Terrier: ADBA, UKC, S.D.R

The Henry - Dibo Cross......
By gamedog
This story is based on wishful thinking in a certain direction that could be linked, but is by no means the truth. It is just a hint for the readers to think in a certain direction when breeding bulldogs and why some of the legendary old-timers are still on the top of the mountain after all these decades of breeding their family, because they carry a big hidden secret about the truth of one of the greatest clicks in history to produce awesome bulldogs.
Some time ago I was studying the roots and background off my bulldogs again and of other major bulldogs from the past with the help of pedigrees on line. It went pretty good and fast I came across the Eli/Boudreaux dogs and especially the Eli dog himself and the dogs before him. To my surprise I saw that he came from light colored dogs who were red bred and/or white buckskin and white brindle dogs traits from the Colby bloodline The Eli family turned from these colors black almost overnight he’s heavy Dibo inbred bred and since Dibo was one of if not the most important producer of his days it kind of looked odd that the Eli family turned black overnight.
When I arrived at my friend’s yard in Texas, USA, we started to talk about the various Eli family’s and stuff and my friend told me (who was close with Jerry Clemmons for some time and who owned the black Nigger Toby dog for some time that he bought off Clemmons) that Clemmons and one of the less known but best Eli breeder of the past, J.D. Elliot, had said to him “If you ever breed these dogs good and tight and a red one comes along, keep that one, as it most certainly will turn out good and you need him to breed back into your black family stock”. My friend never understood why and he told me that they never told him why. He took me to Jerry Clemmons place who I met and his very nice wife we saw the yard and his famous Six Bits dog and some others and youngsters. He didn’t have a lot of dogs around, about 12 or so, but it was educational and very nice to meet up with this old-timer and the man who bred Bullyson, Eli Jr and Brandy. A couple of days later I was picked up by another friend of mine from the Bulldog Ranch. He took me up to Louisiana and we visited Floyd Boudreaux. I was impressed by the same looks his bulldogs had as our dogs. What I liked about those dogs was that most of them were “90%” all black.
He had a couple of red dogs some red nosed and you could see that they were old-time stuff like the Wallace dogs were looking. Now I knew that his dogs were awful tight bred, but looked so good something that didn’t hit me right then. We had a lovely day and me and my wife and friend and Mr. Boudreaux had dinner at a good restaurant Cajun style! When I got back to my friends place a couple of days later I told him that these Boudreaux dogs looked too good compared with their inbred peds and that I found it odd that these 2 men after so many years in the game, still were and are the best Eli breeders around. I couldn’t help thinking about an interview with Danny Burton who once said that Earl Tudor loved the Henry dogs the best and that they were big headed black dogs with reddish eyes and they were crazy to fight and nobody knew where they came from????.
In that same interview Burton said that the first ting Earl Tudor told him was to know how to cheat! One of my mentors in bulldogs H.F aka Dirty Harry told me that Scotty Nelson stayed at his house in the UK for about 3 months. and during his stay there was lots of bulldog talk. And he told Dirty Harry that Earl Tudor imported dogs from the UK up until the mid to late 50's! WE know that the gross of the STB are black or black brindle dogs these dogs compared to APBT have (on average) more biting power and are very explosive but lack depth and Gameness!!. Although according to my other mentor they were sound and good dogs until the 50's where they as a breed lost it. It’s also known and discussed in interviews with legendary dog man of the past, that The Eli/Bullyson dogs and the alligator Bullyson crosses have Black mouths especially there pallets the funny thing is the black SBT has it to!!..I suddenly realized that it could be that Earl Tudor kept 2 families registered under ONE name which is known as the Dibo family. He could have these Henry dogs registered as Dibo dogs but in fact they were a secret family of dogs or at least some individuals, who when bred together made one hell of a click. Isn’t it funny that these Boudreaux bred dogs turned black overnight?? And are bred so tightly that they actually would not be able to function. Isn’t it funny that the red ones that popped up should be used to be bred in? Why was Carvers Black Widow stolen back by Tudor, who changed her name to Tudors Black Shine bred to his (Dibo) Spike dog 2 times and destroyed. Why was the Nigger dog, Earl’s favorite dog, with his favorite pedigree? In them days he had the same pedigree as many other dogs around Earl’s group.
There was one difference and that was that N.GGER was black!! All of a sudden, in a time span of not that many years apart, these great known ace dogs in the likes of Eli Jr, Bullyson, Zebo, Pit General, Alligator, and so on, popped up. I t sure is funny that most of these lines clicked very well together and/or more important clicked with the same outcross families, who YES WERE HEAVY DIBO BRED, like Snooty blood or Boomerang blood. Some of us will know the Eli (Henry) x Snooty (Dibo) crosses of yesterday, together with the Zebo (Henry) x Snooty (Dibo) crosses and the Alligator (Henry) x Snooty (Dibo) crosses or the Zebo x Eli breeding’s or Alligator x Eli breeding’s, Bullyson (Henry) x Arts Missy (Dibo) or the Eli x Boomerang crosses and the alligator Heinzl crosses. Most of these legendary dogs where a product of Henry x Dibo cross registered under one name as Dibo dogs, but in fact they were battle crosses which could be the reason them pure bred Eli dogs are still looking so good and perform good, while on paper are bred awfully tight, too tight if you ask me. Don Maloney had those pure Dibo dogs, the best one he probably ever had was the Toot dog who was double bred Tudor’s Ch. Spike. Toot was like his Dibo ancestors, a real Dibo dog, light colored red dog like Dibo and Tudor’s Ch. Jeff or what about Tudor’s Ch. White Rock and so on. Where did the black colors in Eli and the Nigger and Zebo bloodlines came from? Why was Black Widow stolen? Why did they steal the old Eli dog? Why did Zebo come out of the same part of the country where they knew Eli went to? , why do they say he’s a son of Eli? Why was Pit General stolen? Not because he ore Eli was another great dog. I think breeding had a lot to do with it as well. Today we know that Indian Sunny had Pit general stolen he disappeared from the game for 3 years and came back with Black dogs bred into his corvino/bolio dogs with the most famous dog from that line called GrCh Midnight. His style, look, and his remaining family that followed him where not of the bolio/corvino types.
Too many coincidences surround the legendary black aces of the past. Last but not least, the conning and stealing probably started with Tudor’s sins. NIGGER was his favorite dog in color and pedigree but he later sold him because he wasn’t the hard mouthed dog Tudor thought he would be, and he wasn't the cur that a lot of people think. This rumor was spread by Don Maloney who was present only with Tudor and Burton. Maloney didn’t like Tudor taking a liking in Burton who named his son Earl. Maloney got the Dibo dogs and Burton the NIGGER (Henry blood) producing Pit General. Another Ace dog who is believed to be a Henry/Dibo cross is GrCh Art. His daddy being Eli Jr and his mommy the Java bitch, a red Carvers Pistol bred dog with some Miss Spike and Cottons Bullet in there. Last but not least, bloodlines built around dogs like Chinaman whose daddy came out of Eli Jr (Henry) x Curtis’ Sugar (Dibo) and as mentioned before GrCh Art out of Eli Jr x sister of Sugar called Java and also the Nelis ( Henry) x Tug (Dibo) or Spike (Henry) x Tug (Dibo) breeding’s, Tug being Tombstone/Toot/Carvers Pistol/Miss Spike, bred all pure Dibo red bred dogs, while Nelis /Spike are Henry black bred through Alligator x Eli blood; a coincidence? I can go on and on, but it would be nice for the readers to do some pedigree research themselves and seek out the hidden secrets used for 30 or so years to breed outstanding dogs. Like I said its wishful thinking, and fiction or could some of this be true?

X-Pert History in VA......
There was very important breeding of X-Pert Black Jack II to X-Pert Satin Boots in 1977. It was inbreeding III-I on Satin Boots. The litter had a brindle colored boy, named Atila Of Suregrip. Well known dog White Devil's Killer SchH II was sired by Atila. Now some of today's X-Pert staffs have strong influence of these dogs.
In 1978 John McCarthy bred his X-Pert Brindle Nellie's daughter, Nellie II to Ch.X-Pert Roman Grit. Ch.McCarthy's X-Pert Sai, McCarthy's X-Pert Little Mick, McCarthy's X-Pert Miggs were born there.
Victor Castanada bred Dixie Lilly Of Suregrip to Ch.X-Pert Cherokee in 1978 to produce Ch.Spikette Of Suregrip, who is in many of Barway's pedigrees now.
Suregrip Valiant Boots was bred to X-Pert Brindle Rocky in Rhody's Amstaffs. Lynda Snably purchased Danao Tiny Dancer "Kayla" from that litter. Here are some words of Lynda about Kayla: "I know that at the time I bought Kayla they had Ch. Sooner's True Grit of Rhody (Buster) there with them. He was a beautiful black brindle dog with a great personality. It was his personality that convinced my husband and I to make the purchase. We were expecting my first child at the time and of course, wanted a dog that would be good with children. In all the years we had Amstaffs, and later Pitbulls, we were NEVER disappointed there!!! We moved to Virginia and I started showing her as an American Pitbull Terrier, believe it or not? She was triple registered AKC, ADBA and UKC. She won several firsts and took several group wins at the "Old Dominion Pitbull Club" that my husband and I helped start back in the 80's. Kayla was a great producer and one of the best dogs I ever had the pleasure of owning" Her littermate Ironman K.O. was shown only 2 times and took 2 majors. Here is their pedigree.

A Lil CORVINO History......
In the mid 1960 Dr.Roll got pure Corvino bitch from Pete Sparks, she was named Corvino's Sparkett. She was brindle bitch with white on the chest, she was sired by brindle&white Corvino's C-Line and out of white bitch Corvino's Smarty.
Joe Corvino was one of the most famous dogmen in the breed history. Joe began his breeding program in the late 1920's, he started from dogs of Feeley, Tudor's, Shipley's lines and from Armitage x Tonn's cross. He bred numerous outstanding specimens, his gamedogs played very important role in the history. Such famous names as Corvino's Shorty, Corvino's Braddock, Corvino's Thunder, Corvino's Gimp, etc are well known to any dogman.
By the way, Joe bred National Specilaty Winner of 1939, Westminster Winner of 1940 CH Sox Of Chicago (Corvino's Dick x Corvino's Darky), that was whelped on March 1, 1938.
Joe's 14 times winner Corvino's Braddock sired CH Young Joe Braddock, who was used by Charles Doyle in his Tacoma line. Here is pedigree of Kitty Corvino, dam of Young Joe Braddock, Corvino's Iron Will and Corvino's Victory Bob.

Pete Sparks Owned X-PERT.....
There was very interesting breeding done by Fred Wild in 1957. He bred his heavybred Pack-A-Wow bitch, Wild's Boots to Ch.X-Pert Brindle Biff. Wild's Boots was also known as Florida Fourposter. She was fawn-brindle bitch by Gazan and out of Dan's Rebel. Gazan was by Colby's Pat and out of Dan's Rebel. So, Wild's Boots was inbred II-I on Dan's Rebel. Rebel himself was inbred I-II on Ben's Dan. Ben's Dan was litterbrother to Black Satan (Ch.X-Pert Pack-A-Wow x Sandy's Topsy). I wrote about Black Satan bitch before, if you remember she was dam of Tudor's Nigger. So, here is Wild's Boots pedigree.

So, Fred Wild recieved very nice litter from breeding his Wild's Boots to Ch.X-Pert Brindle Biff. 2 pups from this litter went to friends of Wilfred Brandon and one female pup was sent to Cliff Ormsby as stud fee pup. Pete Sparks bought this pup from Cliff and named Sparks' Spotty. So, here is Spotty's pedigree.

A LiL RUFFIAN Line History......
CH Gallant's "RUFF"
CH "The RUFFIAN"
Gallant line was built on Gallant Ruff, who was pure Ruffian dog, bred by William Whitaker. Whitaker was close to Clayton Harriman, founder of the Ruffian line. This line was built on dogs of mostly Tudor's Henry bloods. Here is CH The Ruffian pedigree. Interesting thing that Garm D dog and Bennet's Black Mary were from Tudor's King x Rumpus Beauty breeding. Dam of the X-Pert foundation dog X-Pert Torpedo, VanVliet's Great Labelle was from Tudor's King x Hart's Rumpus Bonnie. Now, Rumpus Beauty and Hart's Rumpus Bonnie were littersisters! So, it's one more fact to understand how closely related X-Pert and Ruffian lines are.

Ruffian bloodline was started from Ch.The Ruffian and Fred Schroeder bred bitch named Schroeder's Muggins, also known as Calamity Anne. Schroeder line was mostly Colby with some Smith's. And Colby's in Schroeder's pedigree were mostly old Gas House strain.
Alberta Ormsby......
"They're terriers. ..Character is that they act like terrier, act like a Staff." - Alberta Ormsby
Alberta said this about Biff: " He'd just lift his feet like a horse, you know? Like a show horse. And away we'd go. Come on Biff we're going now. He'd wake right out of a sound sleep and on the collar would go. I'd change his collar from a bench collar to a show collar and we'd hurry over to the ring....to win! I always thought I had the best dog in the ring. I went in with the intention of winning."
X-Pert History.......
Ch.X-Pert Brindle Biff was owned by Ormsby's. He was the first dog that Alberta handled at a dog show. He won many shows all over the country. Biff took the BOB at the National Speciality in Columbus, Ohio in 1949. X-Pert dogs took all placements there. Captain Will Judy wrote: "C. A. Ormsby....should be satisfied with these results for his X-Pert dogs took all 5 major placings - a record no other breeder has accomplished at a breed show in America, any breed." Biff had also Best Producer record as the sire of 14 AKC Champions:
1 | Int.Ch.Topsy's Ghost | 8 | Ch.X-Pert Gallant Lady |
2 | Int.Ch.X-Pert The Angel | 9 | Ch.X-Pert Black Betsy |

Clifford Ormsby.......
" When a breeder does establish a good line, he will do well to keep his quality and not slip backwards. It is not easy as his best dogs get old and perhaps an outcross becomes necessary. Knowledge, advice, and criticism are always free as water but, as we see breeder after breeder fall by the wayside, one realizes determination and work are most important." - Clifford Ormsby
"It's important to keep the breed strong, and sound and healthy." - Clifford Ormsby
"You 've got to have an outcross now and then, too....Sometimes you think you're outcrossing and you're not outcrossing as much as you think." - Clifford Ormsby
" Well, I was always interested in animals and dogs from the time I was a little kid....I remember my first experience. I was going to spend my summer vacation with my aunt and uncle over on the Vandermark and they said, "Don't touch Buster, he bites." Well, hell, I had Buster under my thumb in nothing flat Nothing to it. They thought that I was remarkable, because others hadn't manipulated him the way I had, you know." - Clifford Ormsby
" I wasn't limited by breeding too close when I bred, because what I was using was so much outcrossed. So, if you start in with stuff that is already close bred, that's when you're going to get in trouble." - Clifford Ormsby.
"Alberta was teaching Dr.Roll how to show.......and Colonel Schuhmann was watching the whole thing and he said," I'll tell you something Doc,"he says, "You got to get the X-Pert on 'em before you are going to win." - Clifford Ormsby
"Now, Buck was a good looking pup and a good looking dog. You know, people come in and they say, I think that one there is the best one. That would be Buck." - Clifford Ormsby
Best American Staffordshire Terrier in the show. That Jim Rathbun, who called Mrs.Beers, he handled Tony to his championship and then he handled him to Best of Breed down in New York. He'd come over and he'd say,"I'll be over after him in about fifteen minutes. Come on Tony Balloney." Heh-heh-heh. He worked everything on Tony. He'd go out into that ring, in Madison Square Garden. He'd notice everything in that room. Everything was of interest to Tony. And right away, the judge looked at him. I said,"From the way he looked at him and from the way he was performing," I says, "Boy, he ought to win." And he did. When the judge wasn't looking, the handler went like this at me. ...He was quick on that. She never knew he'd made the motion. Oh, he was great! He was the best man. He charged me more money than the rest of 'em. What was that I tell 'ya? Twenty-five wasn't it? About five dollars more than anybody else. Except that, the trouble of it was, "if I don't charge the same, they're going to talk about me," handler says. He was good all right. Oh, he & Tony worked perfectly. He understood Tony and Tony understood him. And the judge was looking at the dog and looking at him and he says, "He's got it all right, she's got her eye on him." You can tell, you know. Once she turned her face and she couldn't see him, he went like this to me. It's a good advertisement, having a Staff like that, a winner at the Garden, you know." - Clifford Ormsby
