JUST KEEPING IT 100

As breeders the goal should be the betterment and preservation of a breed; yet I have noticed a trend within the American Bully community of destroying a breed as a whole and specific breed counterparts “types” at an rapid pace.

Now that I have you thinking you’re saying, what does he mean by betterment of a breed; this is what I’m saying. If you are doing this for the betterment of a breed you should be improving what has already been created great that made you get into the breed to begin with. Improving, improving, improving, to become better in quality, condition, and or value; not this craziness that has been going on and still is at an alarming rate with these animals being hoed out and dying with a drastically declined life expectancy.

Now you’re still thinking what is he talking about preservation; once again this is what I’m saying. We should be doing exactly what preservation means the GUARDING of the breed from danger, harm, or injury not this crazy deformation with the mixing of breeds, unethical breeding tactics to try and get ahead of the next man, and so much more that makes you stray far, far, far away from what made you want to get an American Bully in the first place.

Now for the ones that have no idea of what a trend is its described as a general tendency, movement, or direction; a current or latest fashion or mode. So for the American Bullies it would be as the shortest, widest, wildest looking new dog that hits the circuit and everyone flocks to get dogs from it or out of it with the superficial breeders, judgment becoming warped with only thoughts of huge profits.

Ok, ok, ok, I’ll choose to stop here cause some of you are getting salty so let me just say this; yes not all of the breeders are wrecking the American Bully and its counterparts in some way but there are many who are, so really look within yourself and yard and be 100; is there something or things that needs to be corrected that you’re willingly able to admit? I am and have and will continue to do so, I’ve thrown the rock at myself first hahahahhahahaha

The American Bully & UKC......

As of July 15, 2013 the UKC has now began to recognize the American Bully as a breed, but only as of now the Standard and Classics classes. My opinion is the UKC has found a way to clean up their American Pit Bull Terrier’s stud book.  Many American Bully breeders for way too long producing way too many dogs have been selling their American Bullies as both American Pit Bull Terrier & American Bully by handing new owners ABKC & UKC papers which really doesn’t make sense to begin with these are 2 totally different breeds. I say good job UKC for finding a way to clean up your books. What I don’t care for is that the UKC at this time doesn’t recognize the Pocket and XL Bully which is taking a lot of good real representations of the Pocket and XL Bullies, ones which are healthy, clean, correct and functional dogs out of the running of helping better the breed.  I listened to the Bully Booth BTK Radio show when they has the president of the UKC on and I liked the some things the man had to say, and a few things I didn’t agree with. All I can say is let’s see if the UKC are truly people of their word and also that I will do my best to make it out to the first showing of the American Bully and a UKC event and will report my findings out to the Bully community.

The litter that will be produced with this bitch will be one that many will talk about. All i can say is sit back and watch how NoVACAIN Kennels gets down.

Me & The Game Dog "BullDog"

The Game Bred American Pit Bull Terrier and I have fallen in love many years ago, loving everything about the Game Dog, since 1988. (True Story) One evening my uncle came home with this little black brindle and white female puppy that was this little monstrosity that didn’t listen to anyone but me, that we ended up calling Flava. Something grabbed me with this pup, a bond that I and Flava had that made me risk butt whoopins. Example: Uncle Joe: “Chris, when you get home tomorrow don’t take Flava outside until I get home, she needs a flea collar”. Me, “okay” not paying attention to anything he’s saying really, my mind is on this dog. Around 3:30pm the next day I get home from school, run right past grandma hearing her say “leave that dog alone, Joe gone get you” and outside me and Flava went. Up and down the street running and rolling in the grass for hours having the best time of our lives (back then) then inside to get ready for dinner we went. Later that evening Uncle Joe gets home and checks on Flava, he comes and asks me why is she itching and did I take her outside, I said No grandma said yes but he knew anyways; all of a sudden “POW’ there it was the “didn’t I tell you” spank. Look this went on for about 4 days, and I didn’t care; it was all about me and Flava. Other things happen and the pup had to be given away but since then I’ve always said I’m going to own pit bulls and I’m going to own some of the best.

As I got older I began to study everything I could about the American Pit Bull Terrier. The ins and outs, the good the bad just preparing myself for that day; the day I was allowed to own a dog. I started with the dogs from around the neighborhood. Asking their owners everything about their dogs; but listening and questioning everything they would say just so I could hear them repeat themselves, so I could understand these dogs better. These real dog men and women taught and showed me the importance of exercising, feeding, breeding, and whelping pups the right way, most of all they expressed the importance of simply keeping healthy dogs. One thing I learned early was that they all bred to a standard and it was the ADBA’s APBT breed standard.

My ideal American Pit Bull Terrier both dogs and bitches are 16” - 18” inches to the withers weights between 40 - 60 pounds on a highly active defined muscular frame.
